More stories and pix from Italy trip!

It seems unbelieveable that less than two weeks ago I was back in gorgeous Sorrento, Italy. My husband and I were there 35 years ago and stayed at the Hotel Parco dei Principe. I was very eager to get back there to see if it had changed much. To my delight it was quite recognizable and was only better, if anything. This time aound I didn't stay there but just dropped by one afternoon for tea and sandwiches. We were served on a beautiful terrace over-looking the Bay of Naples. Enjoy these pictures and let me know if YOU would like to book a trip there! Yes, this is a five-star hotel!

Back to Louisville from trip to Italy!!

These pix were taken in our first four days in Rome. The picture on the left is the ancient Colisseum were gladiators used to have their contests. There were actually a few gladiators standing outside but they wanted money to have their pictures taken so I declined. On the right is the Pantheon which is also over 2000 years old. There was a McDonalds right across the square from the Pantheon and I felt sad about that. As a matter of fact, Rome of was full of McDonalds' restaurants! We declined to go there and instead opted for pasta, pizza, and gelato! Stay tuned for daily notes from my Italian holiday!

Cash Family Returns from Awesome Cruise!

The Cash family is back from our fabulous cruise to the Caribbean...except that, at the last minute, we went to the Bahamas! Yes, tropical storm Fay beat us to Key West and was headed to Miami so we headed out on Monday afternoon to Grand Turk, Bahamas! Our first night at sea was a little rough and during dinner plates went flying several times. We were told that we had hit a "wall" of 20-foot waves and that things were fine, but we really were not too happy about it. Still, we ate our dinner and then went to hear a comedy show which made us forget about the waves, thunder and lightening and pouring rain outside. Tuesday morning presented us with brilliant blue skies and sunshine and the storm was gone! To read more about our trip, go to http://www.travelwithchantdoc.blogspot.com/, but give me a few minutes because I haven't written it yet! I'll definitely cruise again because overall it was a wonderful, fun voyage!

Tomorrow we leave for our Cruise!!

Wow! What a week this has been! First I had a stress test on Monday because "they" thought I might have had a slight cardiac "event." While waiting to get on the treadmill, I was checking my email on my cellphone and found an email telling me I had finally been awarded the patent on my music for surgery headphones! Now, tomorrow I leave for Miami to meet by three daughters and two sons-in-law and on Monday we'll board a ship for the Western Carribbean! Of course, Tropical Storm Fay has now developed so Carnival says if she goes west, we'll go east and vice versa. Either way, we'll still be cruising! Right now, if all goes as planned, we'll leave Miami on Monday afternoon, spend Tuesday in Key West and Wednesday in Cozumel, snorkeling and biking in both locations! If we go to the Bahamas, we can still do the same activities! Stay tuned and wish us well with TS/Hurrican Fay!! I'll let you know in regular posts!

Let's Go to Italy!

That's exactly what I'm going to be doing this September! I'm so excited about going back to the beautiful country where I lived and studies for most of 1974! My husband and I lived in Genoa, right on the Italian riviera and I studied piano in Milano while he studied architecture all over the country! It was an awesome experience and, although I've returned a couple of times since then, this trip will focus exclusively on Italy. We'll do Rome, Florence, Pisa, Assisi, Sorrento, Capri, and Pompeii.
Of course we made all the plans on www.CashFamilyTravel.com and got great deals on plane tickets, hotels, and all travel extras! I hope you'll give our site a try and if you want to check out getting a site of your own, let me help you. It's one of the best decisions I've made lately! Stay tuned for my pictures!

The benefits of having your own travel site

Do you like to travel? Do you travel on a regular basis? Do you get tired of prices on flights, hotels, and rental cars going up, up, up? How would you like to have your own travel site and make the commission yourself?
My webmaster actually told me about the "own your own travel site" business and I was intrigued. The company I bought my site from is called YTB travel and it's still possible to get one for less than $500.00. Not only can you immediately start booking your own and friend's travel but you're also allowed to market these sites to your friends, neighbors, clients and get a % of their bookings! So far, it's working out really well and I am so excited to think that I'll have this for the rest of my life and can even leave it to my own children as a functioning business!
If you want to know more about getting one for yourself, go to www.ytb.com/chantdoc or www.CashFamilyTravel.com. Of course call me of email me any time with questions!

Take a Cruise with our family!

Our family loves to cruise! Over thirty years ago my parents started taking people on cruises through the Panama Canal, to Alaska, and to Europe! My father had never traveled until he went to World War II on an Army Transport Ship. That wasn't much fun I don't think, but it certainly did whet his appetite for travel!

Cruising is an ideal vacation because everything is all in one place...one fabulous place! The huge cruise ships nowadays have so many different activities that there is literally something for everyone 24/7. There is every possible type of cuisine available and you can also have room service for any meal! Once the ship docks there are shore excursions to bike around the island, go snorkeling or scuba-diving, shop, see historic sites or whatever you could possibly want.

This August my daughters are taking me on a Carribbean cruise for my 60th birthday. There are still a few staterooms left. Care to join us??

Travel tips from the Cash Family

TRAVEL TIPS
How can I make our time together in the car more enjoyable for everyone?
Check out the route, know what roads you are planning on taking and find out if you need to avoid any road construction so you can avoid unnecessary delays.
Find some areas to take breaks along the way so your trip is less tiresome.
Play games in the car to help shorten the trip. Hunt for different license plate numbers, see who can add up license plate numbers of the cars that pass you the quickest. Kids get a head start since they are in the backseat. Play "I spy". See who can find the most out of state license plates. See who can find the most models of cars.
Bring along games or toys to help shorten the ride. Avoid items with lots of small pieces.
You might also consider small prizes or presents at regular intervals along the trip. New toys often receive the most interest and will help keep your child occupied.
If your children are old enough, give them a map of their own. Have them keep track of your progress by making them the navigator.
Schedule a quiet time for everyone in the car to enjoy. But, enforce the rules so adults are included and must also obey this rule.
Buy some new interesting audio books for a story time while on the trip.
If your music interests are vastly different than your childrens, you might consider getting them a portable CD or tape player and bring lots of batteries. But, agree in advance about its usage times.
Take advantage of this time together and talk to your kids.
Wake up sleepers a few minutes before you arrive at stops. This will give them time to adjust and be ready to get out as soon as the car stops.
To start your trip, go to www.CashFamilyTravel.com!

Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity or CashFamilyTravel.com

Good Evening Family and Friends,

Tonight I went to an amazing travel site presentation by a man who literally went from rags to riches back to rags and now back to riches! His name is Rick Ricketts and he is from Liberty, S.C., right down the road from where I'm from, Clemson, S.C. Obviously the man was there to talk about the absolutely "no-brainer" opportunity of having your own YTB (your travel bureau) site. One of the things he pointed out tonight is that the travel industry is a 7 trillion dollar business! The travel industry is now bigger than the oil industry! Just think about it...everyone is buying their own travel online now. It doesn't matter whether you're looking for plane tickets, hotels, cruises, rental cars or even tickets and flowers, most of us now buy online. As Rick said tonight, we've gone from brick and mortar to click and order!
The questions becomes, if Cash Family Travel is competitive or less with the big guys, would you rather give your commission dollars to them or to someone you know? It's the same flights, hotels, cruise lines and "deals" that come up on the other sites, only the commission goes to our family!!
If you're interested in getting a site for yourself, go to www.ytb.com/chantdoc and learn about this fantastic business opportunity. There's nothing to store or ship. There are 250 travel specialists standing by 24/7 to answer questions or handle any travel problems that might arise!
Questions? Give me a call at 502-419-1698!

What an amazing week of travel I've had!

This past week, MArch 2-7, I've been mostly in Bradenton, Florida. I left Louisville last Sunday morning and it was actually balmy! I arrived in Florida a few hours later and it was like summertime. My friend and I stopped in St. Pete to have a drink with friends and then on to Bradenton.
On Monday I went to beautiful Bradenton Beach which I discovered is actually on Anna Maria Island. This video shows how perfect a day it was with waves lapping the shore and children playing in the sand. Each day got better and better but I came home on Friday to the worst snowstorm Louisville has seen in many years. Check my other blogs for more pix and videos from this amazing week!!

And by the way, if you're in the market for a cruise, my travel site has unbelievable deals on cruises. My daughters and I are going on a cruise in a few months to celebrate a milestone birthday for me. I won't tell you which one because you simply wouldn't believe it!! Wouldn't a cruise make all this snow a little more tolerable?? :-)

Welcome to Cash Family Travel!

My family loves to travel!! My first major trip was at age 6 when my parents took us all to Washington, D.C. I vividly remember going to the Smithsonian and see the collection of inaugural dresses of all the first ladies. I also remember seeing the Wright Brothers airplane suspended from the ceiling! My sister and I went to the top of the Washington monument and came down the stairs, even though we were only 6 and 4 years old! Probably wouldn't be safe today.

Anyway, I was bitten by the travel bug long ago and so a few days ago I bought my very own travel business, courtesy of a company called YTB. You can find out more about it at YTB.com. I'm calling my business http://www.cashfamilytravel.com/ and you can find anything sort of flight, hotel, cruise or rental car there and at a greatly discounted price. Next time you have travel plans, please go to http://www.cashfamilytravel.com/! If you have any questions at all please email me at cashfamilytravel@yahoo.com. See you at the airport!!
